One of the biggest takeaways from the Oliver Wyman report is that the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 will represent 60% of all line maintenance in 10 years’ time. Even 2 years ago it was relatively easy for us to find Licensed Engineers for B737 and A320 for contracts, but that is really not the case anymore. We have seen rates go up to nearly the same as widebody and we can’t see that changing at any point in the near future.

It may be time to get your A320 and B737 type ratings if you haven’t already. And it may also be time to think about getting a licence from one of the major Asian CAAs as that seems to be where the growth is going to really sky-rocket.
